“If we don’t Twitter, we don’t exist.”

Hello Gotshoo readers, all 5 of you. You’ve been quiet lately, don’t know if it is the new design and I’ve scared you off like a 25 Things list on Facebook or the new design has sent you clicking to Google to search for “the real gotshoo?”

Why a new design, and why isn’t it finished?

Good question. I’ve been working on a new design off-on for the last few months. Hard thing to do when you’re not a designer. Needless to say, this is the design I came up with. I like to think it’s a crossbreed of Twitter meets a Facebook wall.

Last weekend, I was backing up my site and copying it over to a dev site to work with a copy of the gotshoo database to make sure everything looked okay in the Dev world. In the process of migration, some URLs were pointed back to the live site which just caused a whole bunch of chaos and threw the live site into a disarray.

By then, I’d say only about 85% of the site was actually done, but being that I only have 5 hard core readers including mom, I thought it was a great time to debut it to the world.

Now it’s at about a 95%.

Comments right now are a little funky and search crashes IE because of some wiry ajax so it’s disabled. But it’s almost there.

Hang in there, daily photos are still coming.

Finally deploying a new custom Wordpress theme I’ve been working on for Gotshoo?. Still have to tweak and get things just right. I’ll let you know when the coast is clear.

You probably didn’t even notice, but gotshoo got moved to a new server tonight. Had to consolidate accounts. I told ’shoofan’ aka Berry that I was moving Gotshoo? and he about freaked out thinking the internet was going to shutdown.I told him not to worry as Rick Astley would calm his fears.

Still got to fix a few things, but let me know if you find anything that’s broke.

After years of a dogless childhood, my parents, more specifically my mom, got a dog today.

Her name is Belle and she’s a dachshund / basset mix. Just like Buddy but black and longer ears. I think my dad was going to blog about her, but I had to take down his blog and move it too (ed.gotshoo.com). He’s got more photos posted on Flickr.

My parents brought her over today and both Buddy & Clancy approve that she’s a great dog and my parents are having the empty nest syndrome.
