Gotshoo? - You're somewhat daily dose of Shoo.

DSC03197

Welcome to Gotshoo?, proudly serving the inter-tubes since 2000. Gotshoo? is the personal of Chris Scheufele, that's me. I live in Springfield, Illinois with my wife and two dogs, Buddy and Clancy. I work during the day as an IT consultant and play at night with a freelance company called After Hours Development, and put together cool projects like Spfldbloggers.com

When I am not tinkering with computers and code, I am taking pictures trying to keep up with my daily photo, or riding my bike, or playing with the dogs.

Crab night.

For the past couple of years it’s been a Shoo family annual tradition to get together and boil a bunch of crab legs, have a few glasses of wine, and indulge in butter.

I actually took a few shots, but every shot was of the family stuffing their mouth’s. To keep myself in their good graces and keep my invite for next year I just croped out the feeding frenzy.

Can’t wait for next year!

My parents must like Sarah because you don’t know how much of a stretch it was for them to give this hat to her.

Remembering someone.

Ten years ago on Friday the 13th my grandfather on my mom’s side passed away. It’s a date that has always stuck in my head for more reasons than being a superstitious Friday the 13th.

I think I’ve been blessed with many talents and traits in my life, but there are certain things that I have to attribute directly to my mom’s father. For one, I have a clef chin. My grandmother always reminded me that the trait came from my grandfather. I think I am the only one with the trait or at least mine is the most prominent. Second, I have perfect vision. My parents and my brother wear glasses, my grandfather didn’t start wearing glasses till he was in his 60’s and only to drive.

It’s hard to believe it was ten years ago. I am always reminded of him.

New stuff.

You probably didn’t even notice, but gotshoo got moved to a new server tonight. Had to consolidate accounts. I told ’shoofan’ aka Berry that I was moving Gotshoo? and he about freaked out thinking the internet was going to shutdown.I told him not to worry as Rick Astley would calm his fears.

Still got to fix a few things, but let me know if you find anything that’s broke.

After years of a dogless childhood, my parents, more specifically my mom, got a dog today.

Her name is Belle and she’s a dachshund / basset mix. Just like Buddy but black and longer ears. I think my dad was going to blog about her, but I had to take down his blog and move it too (ed.gotshoo.com). He’s got more photos posted on Flickr.

My parents brought her over today and both Buddy & Clancy approve that she’s a great dog and my parents are having the empty nest syndrome.

Baseball.

Baseball

I played a little pickup game with my cousin Ben tonight. The kid loves baseball and is a die-hard Cardinal fan. I teased him by naming our respective teams the St. Louis Chris’s and the Chicago Ben’s.

Such a fan of the game, he has having a birthday party at Springfield Sliders game, and on his birthday he and the family are going down to see a Cardinals game. He demanded that his name be up in lights on the scoreboard or it wouldn’t be a real birthday.

The new pocket fisherman.

The new pocket fisherman. from gotshoo on Vimeo.

My cousin had the updated version to the Pocket Fisherman. The new version which should suitably be called the “Rocket Fisherman” shoots bait and bobber out a chamber. Pretty cool.
