I got an early birthday present this year. GTG hunted down a Wii out in Decatur. And because she has a problem with keeping presents to herself (usually all my presents have been given to me right out of the bag - listen - I have no problem with this. Save the paper, save a tree) I got this one early. I think she also has been aching to play since we visited Ed and Amanda in Chicago and played with their Wii.

I’ve been toning up on tennis and boxing. GTG has been honing in her skills on Paper Mario and Mario Party. She was out of commission the first week because she had “Wii shoulder,” so I’ve been practicing playing the computer.

Today at lunch we had a “quickie” tennis match and she kicked my butt. I blamed it on my need to get back to the office and crank out more SQL. Tonight we started with a rematch as I just mastered the power serve. That game ended on a quick 40-0 as the Wii was turned off and I was hit with a controller being accused of cheating. Note: In wedding vows - “It’s just a game.”

I am edging out to reaching pro status. The game is getting harder and at this point it is not uncommon to have 2-3 minute long bouts for points.
