This post is late in coming, but hey, nothing like some left overs. Dave Heinzelhas an excellent podcast featuring people from the tent city outside of Best Buy this past Thanksgiving. I would expect that most Gotshoo readers frequent Dave’s site often, but by the slight chance you’ve missed it (there was an excellent Skyler Duncan podcast this week also):
The only time I’ve stood in line for Black Friday was almost 10 years ago when I purchased a $40 dollar 56k modem that with rebates only cost me $5 bucks. Back then I think you left the house at 6:30 am, not 12pm Thanksgiving Day as the early birds in the video.
I am trying out a new flashed based video service called Vimeo. YouTube is huge, time to find something that not everyone knows about. Vimeo seems to be different in that you get a RSS feed to your videos, the gui for the video player is super clean, and quality seems to be much better.
The downfall was that I could not upload a MP4 (quicktime) file, so I had to re-encoded the files to 512k 640×480 WMV (windows). I think you might be able to get away with using mpeg.
