Seriously, the dogs want to know what you are getting them this year?
The photo above was edited turned into a master piece with a new add-on service in Flickr called Picnik. It’s a pretty cool service that lets you edit a photo in the browser through a Flash interface. It has basic features to fix red eye, change color / contrast, crop ex-girlfriends. Very cool stuff if you’re uploading a photo and the computer you’re working on doesn’t have some kind of graphics program.
Now if everyone could be a good photographer and fix all those beady red eyes.
Picnik also has fun Xmas stamps. See above how they add the Christmas cheer to the photo.
I tried to grab a few shots of the dogs after shooting at Washington Park today, obligatory dog pics for the gotshoo audience, aka mom. It’s really difficult posing a dog, needless to say, two. But some how I got them staggered just right and the neighbor happened to make a noise that got their attention.
I’ve taken a lot of pics of the dogs, but this has to be in my top 5.
Washington Park was filled with families wearing the same color shirts and photographers. I happened to be one of the photographers but my subjects were a little more cooperating.
The rest of the photos from the Friday night game are on Flickr.
I still don’t understand why I couldn’t wear my perfectly good green shirt. I went back and fourth with GTG on what I could wear and what was ‘appropiate’ for the game. Needless to say, I wore red.
I still bleed blue. Go SSHS, even though the football team sucks this year, woot-woot!!
When you’re going to marry a teacher, you’re required to go to football games.
So many times at the game kids came up to get my attention only to ask GTG if I were her fiance. I got to the point where I started pointing at other guys. It’s weird. Never in high school did I get that excited when I saw a teacher out of the school. Yes it was always a point of interest because at that time I thought teachers didn’t have real lives, but never did I have to hyperventilate and wave frantically. Cause everyone knew they were suppose to be at home working on lesson plans. (I am going to get bopped in the head by GTG for that comment)
It’s also been rumored that some kids have found this blog. But why wouldn’t they not know about it? I am totally famous online, or at least the dogs are.
I was asked by a kid tonight, “Are you the guy that bought the high tech mouse? The one with the weights and stuff?” I consulted with GTG afterwards and she admitted to telling the kids of my geekyness… last year. For not remembering the parts of speech, they can sure remember the oddest detail of their teacher’s significant other.
The kids are cool. I remember being that age. Falling into my clique. Being mesmerized and mystified by girls. Feeling akward in my own body and reaching for any sort of independence from parental control.
But now I am old, technically by high school standards. Which is cool cause I can drink beer and I have an excuse for not looking hip.
I made a late night excursion out to the lake to snap a few shots. It’s good that I still have some pull at the place which will remain nameless. Actually, I am talking it up, I just said hi to the caretaker and they thought I was crazy taking photos in the dark.
Just to let the Gotshoo community know, I had no problems taking my SLR to Lollapalooza. Over 440 photos taken on Saturday. Couldn’t say how many are really worth looking at, but the one posted above is a gem.
I was fascinated by this guy’s hair. A. It was multi color, B. He was balding.
I got a tripod the other day and the first thing I did was to take some shots of the dog. They cooperate better than GTG and I don’t have to get a signed model release form from them.
I played with saturation and lighting levels. I like how they turned out.
With the tripod I am hoping to do some experimenting with HDR photography.
This was taken at the Fat Tire Bike Week in Crested Butte. The guy above takes old townies (fixed gear bikes) and refurbs them. He joked, “I do more hands on work with Schwinns than Schwinn does now.” He had some awesome looking bikes; check out the blue and white one right-center of the picture.
I wish I had gotten his contact information but GTG and I had just been beaten up on guided mountain biking trails. We crashed back at the KOA shortly after this.
We later on joked that we wanted matching townie bikes for our wedding gift.
