I’ve got to say that I’m a fan of the new iTunes 8 and Genius Sidebar feature.
I am really lazy when it comes to creating playlists. I rather just hit shuffle and go, but this make it pretty easy. You just go to a song that you’d like to hear similiar artists / music genres and click the Genius icon and it creates a list up to 100 songs from your library.
It looks like you can save and drag & drop your newly created playlist on your iPod.
Only thing I don’t care for, is you’ve essentially given Apple a hand in your music collection and they know your taste in music. But Apple never did anything eviiiiiillll?!
Anyone else using it?
I played with the Genius sidebar for about two minutes and then disabled it, mostly because I value my screen real estate and didn’t want it hogging it. I figured I could just pop it right back on there, but apparently not only does it take a few minutes to process your library information when you first enable it but it deletes that data when you disable it so to turn it back on willy-nilly would take minutes of scanning. Bleh.
I hear ya on that Peter. They added the feature for iPhones and iPod Touches but I haven’t tried it out yet on mine.
Peter, there’s also an option to hide the genius side bar.
