Now, look at some 70+ year old who had a tattoo done at 20-30. Look fresh? Nope. That alone is one good reason to tattoo in moderation. They age as the skin ages. Check your grandparent’s skin - look much different than yours? The colors and lines in a tattoo soften with age. That said, I have read that bigger and bolder holds up better than fine lines and muted colors. YMMV.
Ditto to Matt’s comments. Folks that have multiple piercings, large holes in their ear lobes and exotic tattoos make me wonder what they’ll like in 10, 15 or 20 years.
Wow, look at the old farts come out of the wood work… kidding - kidding. This would be why I don’t have one - yet. I’ll wait till I’m sixty something then I won’t have to worry about it looking like a blotch of crayola skin, it’ll just be a fresh tattoo on blotchy skin.
Tattoos aren’t for everyone, but I thought this was original instead of the usual tribal / chinese characters.
That’s pretty rad. I see some old guys with what appear to be decent old tattoos and they don’t look all that bad. They certainly don’t look any worse than people who get way too tan and end up looking like leather.
I love the look of fresh tattoos.
