By a vote of 6 comments, July 13th is officially Springfield Bloggers night with the Springfield Sliders. Mrs. Shoo and I went with my bro and his gf this evening to scout out the stadium. My nine year old cousin was also throwing out the first pitch for his birthday.
16oz Beer $3.00, Hotdog $2.00 - Really good seats: $6.50.
More than affordable.
So far the Sliders are 16-4, and I believe after tonight’s game they’ll be 17-4. We left after the 6th inning but the Sliders were ahead 6-0.
This is Maddy our neighbor’s dog. She’s just a 7 month old boxer pup. She looks a little intimidating, but she’s like butter and will melt in your hands. I got to play with her a little today. Definitely a very smart and observant dog.
Clancy and Buddy also got to a smell check. They agreed that she’s a good neighbor.
I know when my taste in music is hitting the deep end (I think it’s about right now), but I guess I’ve listened to one too many Decemberists - Eric Hutchison’s - Death Cab for Cutie’s. My latest iPod entries have been on the opposite side of the spectrum of your Death Cabs with Justice, Massive Attack, and F Buttons on my Last.fm profile for the Top Artists of the Week.
So it doesn’t surprise me when I come across a white boy group that raps over heavy electronic-crunk beats titled 3OH!3 (Three-Oh-Three) that I am immediately drawn in. Even better, they’re from the land of hippies Boulder, Colorado. I don’t know what it is about groups like Atmosphere, The Beastie Boys, (here’s one out of left field) Two Skinny J’s but I immediately want to crank it up and act like I have rhythm.
From the YouTube videos I’ve watched the guys look like nothing but a good time and have really heavy beats. Definitely something Mrs. Shoo will be yelling at me to turn it down.
This may be an iTunes purchase, but for now I am going to listen to Myspace tracks.
The internet has changed so many things. Imagine ten years ago if someone said within 10 clicks, I can show you any video, play any song, or show you a picture of any object.
It’s just absolutely amazing.
The video is totally unrelated, other than being odd and kind of cool, to the post but it’s one of three in a contest for a DJ duo Thunder Heist.
I’ve lived in our house going on two years. (I bought it before Mrs. Shoo and I were married) I have a honey-do list about a mile long, but I’d like to think I am making ’some’ progress. The last two weeks I’ve been working on removing rock from the front of the house and transplanting it back by the garage. Why do such a tedious job? I’ll tell you what I told Mrs. Shoo, because I have no where else to dump it and rock is expensive.
I really wish I had somewhere to dump it, but again it’s expensive and I am essentially recycling rock. I hear the prices are double that of oil. j/k
This is what the back of the garage used to look like when I bought the house. Pretty, huh.
This is after a day’s work of ripping out overgrowth, leveling dirt, putting down a border, and two Chicago Boxwood bushes.
A little liner.
Buddy agrees that I am doing a good job. In fact, so much so, that he decided to take a dirt bath before I put the plastic liner down. Gotta love that dog.
I played a little pickup game with my cousin Ben tonight. The kid loves baseball and is a die-hard Cardinal fan. I teased him by naming our respective teams the St. Louis Chris’s and the Chicago Ben’s.
Such a fan of the game, he has having a birthday party at Springfield Sliders game, and on his birthday he and the family are going down to see a Cardinals game. He demanded that his name be up in lights on the scoreboard or it wouldn’t be a real birthday.
