Run, turkey!, originally uploaded by gotshoo.
Mrs. Shoo and I scooted on over to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana this weekend to do some hiking. I welcomed the trip after spending Saturday doing yard work.
The park was super cool. I don’t know how many miles of trails there are but we hiked for over 4 hours before calling it a day. The trails went from being flat gravel to climbing up stream basins surrounded by rock walls.

The pic reminds me of Little Grand Canyon south of Murphysboro. Don’t know if you’ve ever checked it out, but it’s definitely worth it. Especially if you hit up Giant City at the same time.
I remember going to Turkey Run like 20 years ago with my traveling baseball team after a tournament. Lots of fun.
And you had to mention Little Grand Canyon and
Giant City, Peter! Man, I miss southern Illinois.
Looks fun guys!! I think thats the second appearance for the tie die shirt, you hippies.
Well Meg, the Griffins ,and myself are having a blast in Florida.
We really need to go check this place out, sounds awesome. Drove by the exit twice this weekend.
I’m so glad you guys went there! One of my favorite places ever. Go back in the fall for the covered bridge festival. It’s so much fun! Unless gas is $10 a gallon, then I probably wouldn’t recommend it…
Weird. I posted a comment last night, and it’s not here. Does your blog hate my iPhone?
AC, your comment got marked as spam. Don’t know why.
Brad, you definitely need to check it out. Sweet place to camp and an enjoy the outdoors.
I’ve got a few more pics, I’ll post them tonight.
