Alice’s Restaurant.

Got to see Arlo Guthrie with my Dad and in-laws tonight. Mrs. Shoo had to call in the lefty because she picked up some kind of cold. It was a great experience. Guthrie was more of story teller compared to John Prine, whom I also saw with my in-laws, but he put on a great show.

I would go into detail about the old hippies and the stories he told, but I’ve got to watch the DVRed finally of The Office.

Dang, Courtney and I were totally going to go see that! Snuck up on us way too fast. Did he play the Motorcycle Song? That’s my favorite ever. I covered that once at Theater of Ted at ISU, which was kind of an open-mic night for hippies and theater majors. Good stuff.

He did. Looked like it was a sold out show. My father-in-law bought the tickets over 6 months ago. We were 5 rows (at most) from the stage.

So what’d ya think of The Office finale? Did you catch the scene after the credits???

I saw Arlo Guthrie in Columbia, MO, at their annual art fair. I sat in the itchy grass in the 90 degree weather. It was fun and I felt like it was worth it, at least for posterity.

We saw Arlo at Farm Aid 2006 (I think) at Tinley Park. He was one the early acts that no one was too pumped to see, but I enjoyed it. And note: Me and 3 other girls were able to go to the bathroom, get beer AND assorted foods from more than one stand, find our group on the lawn and sit down again before Alice’s Restaurant was even remotely over.

I must say the concert was super. His stories were not only entertaining but gave a peek into his life considering his family pedigree (both mom and dad). To me the high point of the show (music wise) had to be when he played the piano and sang City of New Orleans. It was kind of a throw back to the 70’s when I saw Harry Chapin sitting on the gym floor at Quincy college. I think the concert back then cost me a whole $5 dollars.

Sarah missed a good show and even though I was extremely tried, I truly enjoyed the opportunity to see a legend up close. I do think I owe her something in return.

I guess it would be a finale and not a finally. Well, I about freaked out when the DVR did not record it. Luckily, my computer records episodes of the Office, House, and Bones automatically.

I thought the finale, without going into any detail because Mrs. Shoo hasn’t seen it, was really good. Yes, I saw the end after the credits. Next season is going to rock!
