Beer drinking buddies

One thing that my dad and dog have in common: Stag beer.

My dad has a strange fascination for Stag (AKA: Steak Taters And Gravy) beer; so does Buddy, but he’ll drink anything. It’s definitely not for the taste, could have something to do with the nostalgia or even the price, but he’s got cases of it at his house. Like a Y2K stock supply.

I have it in our fridge but it’s only for him, or people I don’t want drinking my good beer. Yup, this apple definitely fell far from the barley and hops tree.

    You take that back about Stag! I love that shit. Also, it is one of the lowest carb beers out there. Maybe your dad is just watching his girlish figure.

    I’ll refrain from lecturing the merits of that delectable drink that is beverage of choice to that selective group who pursue a higher standard of excellence in the quest of great brews. Those under the age of 30 do not understand nor do they have the matured, established palate that comes with age; a palate that can distinguish between mediocre and exceptional. Most under the age of 30 drink drink what the industrial commercial class brewers’ mass produce for the multitude and in exchange forfeit taste in exchange for quantity.

    Stag is a legacy beverage that is a part of the Midwest, it’s a throw back to another time in history when a beer was brewed for men with discriminating tastes. It’s a beer that must be appreciated. Nay, it should be savored! It is a beer that not only quenches the thirst but revives the spirit and soul.

    I will not lecture the merits, more so the virtues of that splendid brew to those who do not understand nor comprehend the essence of this beer. Doing so would be equal to having to describe to a blind man the brilliance of a mid summer night sky drenched by the twinkle of the stars in all of heaven. Someday you will understand and comprehend the nature and spirit of the brew so proudly named Stag.
