Welcome to Gotshoo?, proudly serving the inter-tubes since 2000. Gotshoo? is the personal of Chris Scheufele, that's me. I live in Springfield, Illinois with my wife and two dogs, Buddy and Clancy. I work during the day as an IT consultant and play at night with a freelance company called After Hours Development, and put together cool projects like Spfldbloggers.com

When I am not tinkering with computers and code, I am taking pictures trying to keep up with my daily photo, or riding my bike, or playing with the dogs.

Happy Birthday Betsy.

Happy Birthday Betsy! See… see why you shouldn’t post pictures of your friends from years ago?!? Prom queen model! I had to dig to find this.

Some background, I was the page editor back in 99′ for SSHS’s school newspaper, Windows. The spread was a last minute thing and I needed models. Betsy and her brother Dave lived next door and some how I convinced them to be models. I think the tux shirt and pants David was wearing were actually mine. The dress I am pretty sure was Betsy’s – I didn’t hit that stage till college.

This was actually a pretty hi-tech spread back in the day. I borrowed my dad’s digital camera, the one I was never suppose to touch (sorry dad), and snapped these shots in the stairwell of the G’s home. Imported everything in Adobe PageMaker and hastily cropped. I don’t even think the photos were any larger than 640×480. It’s hard to tell, but there is some actual technique involved in the fade out of Betsy’s hand. I also managed to stretch Dave to 1.5x his size and crop his feet off. See why they only let me touch the code?

Betsy, if you remember this was also the year we took sophomores to prom and by the end of the night we ended up hanging out and dancing with each other. Probably the best prom ever. Can you believe it’s almost been ten years?

We’re getting old, but at least you’re older. Happy birthday from the Shoo’s!
