Hawaii Chair.

I have no comment other than this “poop-shake.”

Snow day?

Snowy Road

Springfield is expected to get 6-10 inches of snow. The Mrs. and I are hoping for a snow day tomorrow. Well, I don’t really get a snow day but I like the idea of working from home in pajama pants. The shot above was taken on the way home tonight from work.

Dog tired.

Buddy Bed

I am actually not tired, it’s the dog that was tired. I’ve got some web work and bills to pay yet before I go to bed.

Old school pc.

The UPS man today delivered some new parts for my ‘old school’ pc that I am turning into a home server. USB 2.0 interal card for about 8 bucks, a gigabit lan card for about 10, and a new quieter processor for fan for about 18. Everything works like a charm.

IMG_6622Here’s a size comparison of the new fan vs. the old one. Intriguing.. huh? It’s quieter. I am lacking on content and the dogs wouldn’t cooperate with tonight’s photo shoot because there was a new episode of House on. The dogs are both huge fans of House and the Office. The Mrs. and I both agreed that tonight’s episode would have been much better aired before Christmas.

You suck at Photoshop.

Hey design nerds… don’t know if you’ve seen these yet, but they’re hilarious! And yes, I suck at Photoshop.

My shadow.

I got hit with a nasty stomach bug this weekend. Not fun at all when your wife can’t stand the sound of vomiting, and you have to tell her to go outside so you can make haste to the bathroom. No lie.

Stayed home from work today, but I am finally feeling better. Clancy was my shadow all day. It was as if I had neglected him for a month. It’s actually his nails that have been neglected. We bought some clippers this weekend, but the dog is deathly afraid of having his nails chopped off and we didn’t have much luck holding him down. I blame the one that is afraid of vomiting.

Demo time.

Roommate Steve moved out a few weeks ago, so I’ve been working on the upstairs. We’ve put a full size bed up there but had been unable to get the box springs that go with the mattress up the stairs. It’s a winding staircase. I had convinced myself through trial and error that if I just modified the outset of the ceiling above the door jam that I would be able to squeeze it up.

Well… I didn’t get the clearance that I’d thought I get, but on the bright side I removed the unsightly sheet rock. The stairwell was already on my honey-do list to repaint. Now, I get to do a little drywall.

Anyone looking for a box spring for a full size mattress? I can make a great deal.

One ear back.

Everyone is going stir crazy. Cold please go away.

Brothers Shoo.

chrisanddavid

While I was digging for Betsy’s birthday post material, I came across some really old photos. The little kid with chubby cheeks and blond hair happens to be my brother. Ya, he was cute at one time. Funny thing is that I don’t think we’ve ever had anyone come up to us and say, ‘you guys look like brothers.’ His dad has to be the postman.

Now, I have had someone come up to me and my Dad and say we look liked brothers. But it was in a bar, the light was dim and the lady had had a fair amount of alcohol. Still doesn’t stop him from getting the wild hair and calling me ‘bro.’ The kicker is that the lady also happened to be my former middle school English teacher.

I took some photos of the dogs tonight, but I just wasn’t feeling it. The lighting sucked and I can only take so many pictures of the dogs on the couch. So instead, I present the daily photo as one from our Colorado trip last summer. This picture is currently my wallpaper on my iPod.

Our trip was only a week long and in that time we went from Estes Park to Durango. That’s pretty much from going from the top of the state to the bottom and it’s a lot of driving.

The coolest part had to be driving through the mountains. At one point you’re in the valley passing a stream, the next you’re going uphill at a 35 degree grade and then heading back down with rocky sidewalls going 70+ mph. It’s an incredible rush if you’ve been stuck in Illinois for most of your life.

I’d love for any excuse to go back out there.

Code monkey.

Books, man they can make you look smart. Truth be told, I haven’t read most of these books. It always seems easier to hit the web when I’ve got a problem with code or database stuff. But they’re great bathroom brainstorming material.

Talking about nerd stuff –

I updated Spfldbloggers.com tonight. Nothing ground breaking, but some improvements.

  • The RSS feed now displays the last 20 posts instead of 10.
  • Pages on Spfldbloggers now display 20 posts per page.
  • There is a link to the mobile version on the menu on the right side.
  • Posts that have a time stamp of the future (got to be a time zone issue) are not displayed till they are in the present
  • The Wifi Map has been updated with a few new locations. Thanks to Mr. AC for the updates.
  • More ADs. Buddy has to eat some how.

Wii night.

IMG_6456

We had some guests come over for dinner tonight. Of course, we had to play a few rounds of tennis.

Read.

Mrs. Shoo loves to read and she will be taking full advantage of her three day weekend. I think she’s already finished off two books this weekend.

Lebowski recap.

IMG_6378

First of all, it wouldn’t be a Lebowski Fest The Lebowski Experience without some oat sodas.IMG_6392

Or, a Caucasian (aka White Russian). This one probably could have used a little more room for half and half.

IMG_6396

The dudes from Autobahn showed up with the checker from Ralph’s.

IMG_6379

Even cable access’s own John & Micah were there filming for Just Two Guys. John even wore a button fly so no one had to worry about getting a free show.

Another Walter with his ex-wife’s Pomeranian. What? It’s like not he was going to give it a beer.

Lebowski Fest The Lebowski Experience 2008 was actually a huge success. Word at the event was that they had to close registration down at 82 on Friday. Here’s the official site. If you missed it, there’s always 2009.

Walter Sobchak.

Definitely my favorite Walter at Lebowski Fest 2008. If you don’t recognize this Walter, it’s no other than Russ from Springfield Rewind. Russ was authenticate all the way down to the dog tags.

Russ won best costume and was MVP on the trivia team.
