Secret Santa of Music.

BFS started it. Anon Com continued it.

Here’s my addition with my favorite songs of 2007 which were all from 2007. Go ahead, continue this meme. These are usually fun. You don’t have to post all YouTube videos like I did.

5. Data Rock - Data Rock - Fa Fa Fa

This song is fun with the funky beat and the simple guitar riff.

4. John Butler Trio - Grand Nationals - Funky Tonight

JBT has been close to my musical tone def ear for some time now. I had Sunrise Over Sea before it was released in the states. Grand Nationals is a great, but I favor Sunrise more. Still, this is a great album.

3. Radiohead - In Rainbows - Nude

Radiohead is one of those bands that when someone says I’ve got Kid A or Amnesiac… You do? Well do you like these bands… umm who? Well, everyone in my experience likes Radiohead. In Rainbows did not disappoint this year.

2. Avett Brothers - Emotionalism - Die Die Die

These guys are just freak’n incredible and I can’t believe I saw them play live in Springfield - friggin’ - Illinoise. Thanks goes out to Dennydeaton who pointed me in the direction of these fellows.

1. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible - No Cars Go

This is an album that I can listen to start to end, and then hit repeat. It’s a full album of great material. This is one band that I’d like to see live.

So, there you have it. My songs for 2007.

I’ve been addicted to Neon Bible for the past month or so. I can’t seem to make it past Arcade Fire on my iPod. They knew what they were doing having a name so high on an alphabetical list. I’m all “I could listen to that for a little while.” Then the album is over, and I’m like “was that it? I need to listen to it again.” And so the cycle continues. I’m listening to ‘Windowsill’ now, one of my favorites from the album.

Shoo, thanks for being here for us this weekend. It meant so much to me and my family. You’re a true friend.

Dave, exactly the same sentiments. Have you seen the Neon Bible performance in the elevator?

Betsy, it was the least I could do.

Rad - I hadn’t seen that before. Totally cool. Reminds me a little of the late-night elevator rides to my dorm room back in college. You never knew what was going to be on there, but it was usually furniture or underwear.

That was awesome! I did some digging and found the full clip here. Very cool, great band! And with a name like Win how could the lose?

Sweet…reminds me of when I’m From Barcelona performed Treehouse in the handicapped toilet at Virgin Radio last year.

They also have a very DaveHeinzelesque video on their website…

Sweet video nod, Russ. Very Daveheinzelesque.

I’ve heard of I’m From Barcelona before, but I am going to have to look more into them.
