Walk.

Walk is the magic word with Bud. He could be passed out dreaming about fire hydrants and an endless supply of bones, but as soon as I say ‘walk’ he’s up on all fours. (He just perked up as I read that out loud) We had some bonding time this week where it was just him and I taking a stroll through Washington Park. It’s like a candy store for him. Dry crusted dead animals stuck to the road, goose poop, and tons of dog tail. He was in doggity heaven.

GTG has been taking Clancy out for walks in the morning and I thought I owed Bud one. Handling both dogs at once is almost an impossible chore (unless you have treats). But while we were gone, Clancy whimpered around the house looking for us.

Anyway, I am yet again blogging about the “boys.” I don’t want to sound like one of those clamoring animal nuts, but this week has been one of those weeks and it’s just nice to come home to GTG and a couple of buddies.

Okay, and Roommate Steve is kinda nice too when he’s not kicking my butt on the 360.

    Sounds like our two fuzzy-heads.
We cannot say ‘walk’ but ‘lets go on a ‘w”. Otherwise Cody goes nuttso on us.
Been way too hot to take the dogs out lately.
Puffin went to the vet’s yesterday— poor thing had most of her teeth pulled (would have caused her severe problems just down the road if not).
    Still a bit of a snaggle-tooth though.

Nothing wrong with dog posts, man. Keep the hits coming. PS — check out my latest post, I know you gotta remember Showbiz.

That is also Beck and Emmet’s favorite word and we get a very similar response. We took them on the first walk yesterday in a couple months. It’s been way to hot this summer and they prefer to cool, icy inner lining of our house. They have a lot of energy pent up and it was nice to get some of it out.

Also, great to see you are listening to Sufjan (maybe you have been for a while). I frickin love that dude and that album he wrote about your state. Hopefully NC is next on his radar.

Brad, you missed my Show Biz post earlier this month. Link on your blog.

Denny, Sufjan rocks! I get a little creeped out listening to the John Wayne Gacy, Jr. song. Still a great song just creepy. JWG actually used to live in Laketown which is pretty much a subdivision of Springfield.

You’d think the dogs would want to play inside in the A.C., but as soon as my two are inside they start sawing logs.

“Walk” was a magic word with Miles, too. He also could detect the “tink” of the leash clasp from 100 yards.

Yeah kind of a creepy story but a beautiful song. One of my favorites.

My parents have to spell out W-A-L-K and P-A-R-K cuz if Toby hears either of ‘em, it’s over. They have to be careful saying ‘go’ too because he tends to make a run for dad’s truck if he hears that. And Shoo, you know Amanda and I need puppy info and pix, so keep up the good work!
