Avett Brothers tonight.

Don’t know if the show is sold out or not, but the Avett Brothers play the Hoogland Center tonight at 8pm.
Welcome to Gotshoo?, proudly serving the inter-tubes since 2000. Gotshoo? is the personal of Chris Scheufele, that's me. I live in Springfield, Illinois with my wife and two dogs, Buddy and Clancy. I work during the day as an IT consultant and play at night with a freelance company called After Hours Development, and put together cool projects like Spfldbloggers.com
When I am not tinkering with computers and code, I am taking pictures trying to keep up with my daily photo, or riding my bike, or playing with the dogs.

Shoo-
You going? I’m going with my friend Nick. Maybe I’ll see you there. Last I heard, there were still a lot of seats available. It’s too bad really. The Avett Brothers are great, and it’s a shame that more people don’t know about them.
John
John, I saw you there tonight just didn’t get a chance to say hi. Man, what a show. I took GTG her parents. It was a shame there wasn’t more people there but there was enough cheering to make up for the empty seats.
I have a feeling we won’t be seeing these guys in this area again except for Chicago or St. Louis.
I’ve never seen so many strings broken during a concert.
The broken strings were nuts. And Scott’s fingerpicks kept flying off as he was playing.
It really was an outstanding show. I kept thinking, “How in the world did Springfield manage to book these guys?” I would have liked to see more people in the house, but it seemed like everyone brought a lot of energy to the show. It’s hard not to be energized when those guys are playing.
I have to say, their energy was contagious…although I’m still unsure as to why Big Fur opened for them. My parents both really enjoyed the show. Dad was talking about it this morning when I saw him.
I take back my comparison I made earlier. I misjudged. There really is no comparison. It was a great show…great music. Well worth the sleepiness today.
I would have loved to have gone, but it’s really hard to find a babysitter on a Wednesday night. That’s why more people weren’t pu there. And the fact that this town doesn’t support original music at all…that could have something to do with it as well.
I agree with you that this town has a horrible sense of music. Just listen to the major radio stations.
You should have brought your kid. Never too young to expose them to good music. That or the dogs make excellent babysitters. That kid would be licked sooo clean.
