Grass.

Did anyone else have problems with the gnats this weekend? I took a ride to shoot some pictures of the sunset tonight; I could barely breathe they were so thick.

Music.

After work on Friday I popped in the big blue store and picked up some new tunes.

Arcade Fire - Neon Bible. This is my favorite out of the three. Indie rock band meets Radio Head’s Kid A. A lot of God undertones in the music - hence the name of the album.

The Fratellis - Costello Music. I heard the Fratellis listening to an online radio station. This album is fun rock n’ roll. Rockabilly with not so much billy.

Artic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare. I can’t give this one a comparison yet. Good so far.

Dogs.

The dogs haven’t been featured for a while, so here you go (mom).

Classical touch.

Have a good weekend.

Slide of hand, viral marketing.

In an elaborate scheme, Molson and Lee pulled a fast one to fool the radio and blogging community into thinking they were getting tossed off the air by the efforts of a “blown out” blogger named Cyndi, only to announce they are starting a FM morning radio show on 97.7 Alice.

I still hate Cyndi. You should have seen the rebuttal I had typed up (delete).

Chicago is my kind of town.

Chicago would be my kind of town if it were the home of the Cardinals and the rent was much much much cheaper. GTG and I had a wonderful time up north this past weekend enjoying baseball games, getting the real taste of Chicago, and drinking a Fat Tire or two. All except the part where we got peanuts thrown at us after the Cubs vs. Cardinals game. Could have been worse, I guess.

Ed and Amanda thanks for your hospitality and Nintendo Wii! The Wii is so cool! Ed, I am training up on tennis so next time we can have a real competition.

I’ve uploaded a few pictures from the trip Got to stop blogging late at night.

It was a perfect trip till I pulled out of the garage and “scuffed” GTG’s spankin’ brand new car’s bumper on the trim of the garage door. Her expression was almost as sad as taking the head off of a Barbie in front of a eight year old. Needless to say, I apologized a million times. Looking to get it fixed next week.

Pics from the trip have been uploaded.

Bad Keanu Reeves movie.

Well, I don’t know if it is a bad movie, but it’s Keanu…. excellent.

Tonight I am meeting up with Just-Two-Guys and some other random people at the Capital City Bar & Grill for Movie Geeks Club. Doors open at 7, movie starts at 7:30. They’ve got a killer ques-a-dill-a.

We’re watching A Scanner Darkly. I believe this is the movie that they filmed and then traced over it to make it look animated. Total waste.

Just-two-dudes, can we watch Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure?

This is suppose to be an open invitation for whomever reads this blog.

Beer.

Fat Tire

While we were in Chicago, we missed out on a drawing for an official Fat Tire bicycle at a bar we were having lunch at. You got a ticket for the drawing with each Fat Tire you bought. GTG and I both agreed if it wasn’t for a Cardinals vs Cubs game, we would have stayed around for the drawing.

Hey, beer man!

GTG and I made a voyage up north to hang out with Ed and Amanda and go to a Cards vs Cubs game at Wrigely Wrigley (thanks Amanda). We were suppose to come home Saturday night; we didn’t make it back till late this evening. We’re pooped, so this is the only photo I am going to upload tonight.

Beer Man

Real men of genius.

Here’s to you Mr. Download This Outside our Firewall Guy -

Betsy email me yesterday with a story about her coworkers going to Wendy’s for a taco salad and discovering the gargantuan amount of calories afterwards. (But.. but it’s a salad.) She was in dire need of the Bud Light “Real Men of Genius” commercial: “Mr. Giant Taco Salad Inventor.”

I found the YouTube video right away, but couldn’t remember what tool to export the video. So I found the audio file online and attached it to the email. Her day was made by getting to play the audio file for her fully stuffed coworkers. But if I had only been able to send her the video then I would have been a true Real Man of Genius.

Today, I found the tool: Zamar (actually I’ve known about it, just forgot)

The site is an online file conversion site. Need to convert a PDF to a JPG - it will do that; need to download YouTube videos into an AVI format - it will do that too.

A little dirt.

Hit the trails today after work. Saw about 13 deer and a turkey.

Sofa King.

This one has been floating around the office today.

The purple room.

So, earlier I was kidding about GTG having to get rid of her shoes when she moves in– well, I was kidding. She’s actually getting a whole room for her shoes and clothes. The closets in the house are only about 3 1/2 feet wide. Typical closets in a new house are around 5-6 feet wide. So to make up the difference, GTG is getting what is currently my office to turn into a dressing room. You’d think we were rich or something!?

Per her request, she wanted to paint the room “purple” “blue-grey” “lilac.” I kidded her all weekend about the color.

Here she is artfully touching up around the edges. You may notice that there is no drop cloth. We’re tearing up the carpet after everything is painted. I put the finishing touches on the walls last night. I am going to paint the ceiling (which I found out after the walls were painted that we should’ve painted the ceiling first) later on this week.

So after the ceiling gets painted then the carpet comes up. I’ll pulled up a larger area of the carpet to get a better idea of what the floor looks like.

More glue than I anticipated. I’ve experimented removing the glue by mostening it then scrapping it (gently) with a puddy knife. It’s going to take some time, but I think the floor will pretty good after it is done.

Mid-thought.

GTG is working on grading. I am working on side work.

Mid-Thought

Good blog, good boy.

I feel like if I don’t jot something down that I am neglecting my blog like it was a pet. I’ve We’ve been super busy the last few days with home stuff (painting, stripping glue, painting, touching up) and buying a new car! Of course, more on this later.

I even took some dog pictures on Sunday for SternO, so on Monday he could wake up to new dog pictures. SternO is a closet animal lover. I hear he has cat posters and dog figurines all around his cube.

The pics are still sitting on the laptop, maybe over lunch I’ll get them up.

That’s it for now; back to work.
