Gotshoo? - You're somewhat daily dose of Shoo.

Welcome to Gotshoo?, proudly serving the inter-tubes since 2000. Gotshoo? is the personal of Chris Scheufele, that's me. I live in Springfield, Illinois with my wife and two dogs, Buddy and Clancy. I work during the day as an IT consultant and play at night with a freelance company called After Hours Development, and put together cool projects like Spfldbloggers.com

When I am not tinkering with computers and code, I am taking pictures trying to keep up with my daily photo, or riding my bike, or playing with the dogs.

Return to blog.

You got another one.

One Bud wasn’t enough. We had to go with a Bud-Light (according to Sterno).

Ya, we got another dog. GTG was convinced that Buddy was living a depressed solo life without a buddy. She’s been working on me for months for another dog. I avoided and ignored as much as possible. We even made two trips to the APL; each time with me giving an excuse why we could’t get another dog.

We were at the parade downtown last Saturday and the APL happened to be one of the groups passing by. GTG reports back to me after they pass by that there is a puppy just like Buddy in the parade. I smile and nod and somehow agree to visit the APL later on in the afternoon. Buddy was with us during the parade so he tagged along to meet the pup.

When we arrived GTG told the attendant that we were there to see a tan colored pup. She responded, “Ohhh, you mean Clancy,” the rest of the room echoed the same sentiments. Clancy was led out of his room after just waking up from a long nap. He had walked the whole way through the parade.

First thing that popped into my mind when I saw him was ’spider monkey.’ His legs were just as about as long as his body.

They told us that he was a Cocker-Spaniel – Daschund mix. It’s difficult to explain why we’re fans of the daschund hybrid.

Since Buddy was with us, he got to sniff around and see how he liked the dog. He approved.

We waited till Sunday to pick up Clancy because we had to bring in Buddy’s vet records to show them that he was up to date on his shots.

When the dogs first met – it was an obvious challenge to see who was the alpha dog. Buddy has about twenty pounds on four pound Clancy, but Clancy has razor sharp baby teeth and is just a little taller than Buddy. They’ve been going at eachother for the last day, but this evening they’ve seemed to find some kind of cease fire. They’re passed out on GTG as I am typing this.

They’ll play for a while but then one or the other will get a little too aggressive and ears and tails will get snipped at. So they’re adjusting, but after a week I assume everything should be fine.
