GTG and I were fortunate enough last Friday evening to see John Prine in concert at Sangamon Auditorium. Prine is a folk musician that I’ve listened to forever, or as long as I could drink legally, but didn’t know who he really was. If you are ever in DH Browns and you hear the song “In Spite of Ourselves“… That’s John Prine
In spite of ourselves
We’ll end up a’sittin’ on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, we’re the big door prize
We’re gonna spite our noses
Right off of our faces
There won’t be nothin’ but big old hearts
Dancin’ in our eyes.
GTG’s parents gave us tickets at Christmas for the concert. We were about 8 rows from the stage. GTG’s Dad is the man when it comes to tickets. Couldn’t have picked a better future father-in-law. He burned us a CD of Prine’s stuff before the concert. Of course I didn’t get to listen to it beforehand, but it was a great experience to hear classics for the first time like Up on Bear Creek, I’m Just Gettin’ By, Flag Decal, and Fish and Whistle. I’ve been listening to the CD since we saw the concert.
K and Monica - what’d you think?
The apostrophe is left off the “it’s” on the title because it screws up the formatting in IE.

B) Buddy si cute
C) I love Sarah-the-grammar-czar!
I thought the concert was great. I really liked the lady who opened for him. Do you remember her name? I’m horrible with names. I also liked the song Speaking Dirty in Hawaiian.
