I just got the 2007 Bicycling magazine buyers guide and I all I want to do is “ride my bicycle… bicycle” as the Queen song goes. Expensive pretty bikes. I want them all!
I had to deflate my plans for RAGBRAI, a week long bike ride across Iowa, after realizing taking a week long vacation is not condusive to saving and planning for a wedding. I still plan to ride but my new ultimate goal this year is a full century.
Also, if possible this summer, Jessie lives off the Katy Trail in Missouri. GTG and I have talked about taking an extended weekend trip down there. Jessie also tells me that there are plenty of micro breweries in the area. Sweet!
Blog post title and inspiration coming from a Yakima ad in the buyers guide. “You need inspiration to ride? Flabby man boobs.”

Come see me…NOW!
I’m very happy to hear that you won’t be riding hundreds of miles across Iowa this year. I was worried that you were going to surpass me on the bike map, and that would make me feel bad. I plan on doing the Springfield Century again, but I don’t want to do any other organized rides - just the one.
I can’t wait for some nice weather so I can get back out there on my bike some more. Maybe I should take it in for a tuneup before the first nice weekend. Note to self.
Get it in the shop before the hint of warm weather; the turn around time doubles afterwards.
Still going to bike from the new house to work? You’re a little further away now?
