Always freezing up on me when I was a paragraph away from finishing my all nighters, and killing me in general. I don't go around preaching computer geek speak, but I know enough about the design software to have a pretty geeked-out conversation about it. Additionally, when I'm thinking about plunking down $3K on a laptop, I do my research. Sue me. I'm still a wild animal when I go out...but hey-I have to know my shit if I want to make it in my field. Hey, what can I say-

When the new macbook pro made it's debut back in February, I wanted to buy one that same afternoon. I held off, and although I still have to fight back the urge to break out the plastic and buy one everyday, I remind myself of a few items that I have to have resolved before I buy one. 1) Adobe's Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) will NOT be intel native for about a year. A YEAR. The whole point of buying the high end macs is for superior graphic software running smoothly and efficiently in a nice encasing. 2) The next revisions will hopefully take care of the issues that the early adopters have been having with their intel books- Screen imperfections, fan noise, etc 3) Who the heck knows how fast the high end macbooks will be by Spring 07 when CSIII comes out? Not to mention the next OSX version...Panther...Tiger...Tomcat? Fat Tabby? Yeah, I'm a mac user. But I'm the first to admit that their premium pricing kills me when I have to buy apple.
