I’ve been feeling a little under appreciated here at gotshoo.com. I’ve been blogging for almost 6 years now, and this is the first time I’ve come to a point to think that maybe this is enough. I’ve tried to be creative, sarcastic, and share random humor.
My grammar and spelling suck. No doubt about that.
But you’d think I get a ‘way-to-go’ pat on the back every once in a while. Who else has cool things like my recently played list, or the latest comments, or a random selection of photos from my flickr account, or avatars? Granted most are easy PHP scripts that you get anywhere off the internet, it still takes time and effort to get these things to work just right. I had a lot of the features way back in the day when there was no flickr or last.fm.
I try to post or come up with things that would spark some type of conversation. Other than lambasting which baseball team is better (and for the record: cardinals “are” the best team on gotshoo.com), or the typical “i’m bored statement”.
I’ve held a lot of content back. Why post if I am just going to get comments about ‘check out my site instead’. I want to post, but why waste the time? Especially when it’s acknowledge half the time that posts aren’t even read.
One thing you’re taught in the media industry is not to ridicule your audience. I’ve got quite a few readers (mostly silent) and I’d like to thank them for coming back. I know who you are. Thank you again.
But I’ve been burned out on this and it’s time to do something different.
As of now, I am retiring gotshoo.com. Maybe I’ll come back in a few months, maybe a year, but for now I’m done.
I’ll be the 1st to post up on this one and say that I am mighty frightened. Shoo, you know I heart your blog. I don’t even read any others. I’m a devoted fan/stalker, whatever.
You’re my favorite, even if you are a cardinal fan…

And Shoo, btw. I do read what you actually type, but I can’t access pretty much anything that you link at work. So that’s what I meant by not reading half the posts….not that I don’t want to….I can’t.
Oh Shooey, poor poor Shooey. You get like 3 times the hits that I do per day and like a 3rd of mine are me. I enjoy your site. I read your posts. Heck, I even linked that ninja site on my blog cause I thought that it was so cool and you found it, not me. I post “check out my site” because I know people like Natalie only read yours, they come to you first. Buck up little camper, everything will be alright.

But, I just want to point out, yeah, you’ve been blogging longer than anyone else in Springfield, you definitely get more hits, have more comments, and have a more dedicated community base, of any other Springfield blog (well, except maybe me). With all these privileges comes a mighty responsibility, not just to gotshoo, but to your people…
I don’t really know where I was going with this. Somewhere I’m sure.
But, really, I just wanted to drop a comment and say I do read your blog regularly even though I’ve never commented before. Keep up the great work.

We really do appreciate what you do. I especially appreciate the photos you post and when you do extra nice things, like promoting Nattie’s bowling event.
It’s (obviously) your desicion if you quit, but we will miss you. And the rest of us bloggers are jealous of all your Springfield hits.

shoo if your not up and running i loose track of the life i use to lead in springfield. how can i stay connected and grounded from the crazy life i lead now when i will have nothing to remind me of where i came from?..a couple of months? could this be the thing your giving up for lent? are you even catholic? because i am and i think i was going to give up hookers. but this is would defently be harder to give up then EIU hookers.

Also, Shoo, another reason why I post my link is that I don’t like to retype things that I would like to share with friends when it’s already posted on my site. So I just put a notice on the most visited blog site in Springfield. You understand right?

I’ve been busy as hell this afternoon. Did I miss any good drama, or is everyone just too scared to post???? I think if I were cut-off from gotshoo.com, I would suffer some tramatic, PTST symptoms, and need more Prozac than I normally require.

Didn’t get a chance to read all of this yesterday because I didn’t have access to a computer while doing by hours at LHS but today, I decide that I need to catch up on the postings since it has been a couple of days and what do I find…the most pathetic attempt for pity comments I have ever seen in my life! Get over it shoo…do you not pay attention to the fact that this is how several of us keep sane through the day. You just keep on doing what your doing and we will keep on coming back for more…although we can all make due with no more links like the blonde joke…not your best work! Besides, yours is the only blog I can access from all the school district computers because it doesn’t have blog in the address.
I can access my blog from district 186 internet. I’ve done it at my school and the office.
