Gotshoo? - You're somewhat daily dose of Shoo.

Welcome to Gotshoo?, proudly serving the inter-tubes since 2000. Gotshoo? is the personal of Chris Scheufele, that's me. I live in Springfield, Illinois with my wife and two dogs, Buddy and Clancy. I work during the day as an IT consultant and play at night with a freelance company called After Hours Development, and put together cool projects like Spfldbloggers.com

When I am not tinkering with computers and code, I am taking pictures trying to keep up with my daily photo, or riding my bike, or playing with the dogs.

What an ugly day.

I made it into work early again today. Which is amazing feat considering how weird my sleep schedule has been this week. Going to bed at 1:30, getting into work at 7:30!? Guess the only positive thing is that I get to get out early!

Damn it’s going to be a good day.

I was up and at-them this morning… okay maybe not that much morning cheer, but I had an underlining plot. Today’s high will 57*!! Whoo-hoo!

I finally got a hook-up at Starbucks; the employee discount. It has been a long time coming. Myself and the manager were on a punk radio show back in the day. Oi!

Joke I heard this morning on the radio:

I only notice when I am fat when I run or go over railroad tracks.

Bought a new saddle “seat” as well as a new air pump for my bike yesterday. The advertising for the seat says that it will increase the blood flow to my “penial” area. I think we can all figure out where that area is. I hope the boys appreciate it. So with today going to be as beautiful as it is, I am going bike riding with Philly for the first time in 06′ this afternoon. So stoked.

Other than that, I am nerding it out at work.

Cheers, have a good day.

I am an iNerd.

Apple just had their big unveiling of their new products for 06′. I am not a Mac person, but you’ve got to follow this company. 43 MILLION iPods were sold last year. Something like a 100 a min were sold. The feature product this year was the MacBook Pro. It is the first Apple laptop running an Intel Processor. Speeds start at 1.67ghz or 1.83 on a dual core. (Laymen terms: Dual Core – A processor that can handle 2 things at once. Not necessary 2 times faster.) It’s a killer laptop especially for graphics with the ATI Radeon x1600 holding 256mb of memory. But at a base price of 2 Grand, it looks like this laptop for the Apple community; no PC converts.

It was speculated that Apple would come out with a cheaper or more price concious version of the laptop to be produced by Dell. Not this time, but those looking for a good priced iBook, this would be the time to hit eBay.

Jesse Jackson is a hypocrite.

Why the title? Jesse Jackson once came to my high school and gave a speach about not doing drugs and having ‘unprotected’ sex. He’s the one that had an illegitimate child out of an affair. I thought I just get that out in the open… It’s been on my mind for awhile.

So what’s new in Shoo land? Don’t you love when I refer to myself in third person. That’s hot.

Would you believe me if I said ‘Nothing’? Okay, not exactly nothing.

I got on the scale the other day. I about broke it, so I am back on the diet kick again. This time I am doing a better job of watching what I eat. I’ve ruled out fast food especially McD’s and Wendys. I am also trying to make it the gym every other day. But since I have started dieting, my mind has been focused on food. But I am trying to feed myself reminders why I am dieting so that I don’t fall back to the “Fat Side.” Like tonight, I watched Celebrity Fitclub on VH1. Bruce Vilanch looks like he swallowed an igloo. Then at bowling tonight I was caught starring by one of teammates at a lady who had an ass bigger than a duffle bag. All I could think is that someone in some third world country making her pants and laughing at them, “Ohh, fat American woman!”

Funny thing, just looking for a pic of Bruce-Bruce on VH1 and next to his photo they had an ad for Wendy’s. That’s targeting your audience.

I’ve discovered a new favorite TV show, The Office. Hillarious to anyone who has worked in cube-land before.

I’ve already heard from the firing sqaud about the masses not liking the designs I have been trying out. Understandable, I haven’t actually found anything that I’ve cared for either.

That’s it. Don’t work too hard!

Big Game.

Tonight is the big game with the 6th-ranked Illini vs. the 7th-ranked Spartans.

A little “Chief” to get us all excited for the game. I took this video at the game vs. SEMO.

It goes without saying “I am a nerd.” This is one of my favorite Xmas presents, my popcorn maker. Everyone come over Saturday night, I’ll make some popcorn.

06′ Predictions and Resolutions

New Years was a good night. Besides getting a kiss from a beautiful girl at the stroke of 12, it was actually my last night at the bar. I didn’t really tell anyone that I was quitting. Didn’t think it was a big deal, and it’s not like I will never be in the bar again. Sorry if anyone felt like they were out of the loop.

Why did I quit? I worked there for a year and a half, and working full time and then having to work on the weekends was just not fun anymore. Not that working wasn’t fun. Trust me, I had a great time working at the BEST bar in Springfield. It was just time to move on for me.

I have other things that have sparked new interests. Recently my taste for wine has sky rocketed. I am not popping the cork on a bottle each night, but have my new favorite brand Castle Rock. Discovered it at Biaggis, my favorite is their Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s the good stuff. I have a feeling I will be testing a few more brands this year.

Last year I was concentrated on getting rid of my belly. “GET IN MY BELLY!” I made a valiant attempt riding my bike 300 miles over the summer. But alas, after getting a new job and trying to keep up with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I am at about the same point I was last year. I think I am going to refocus my prediction this time with K as my inspiration. Now next year I may not have a gleaming six pack, but I will be eating healthier and a few notches off the belt. And I am going to get in shape so that I can do at least one many bike races this summer.

I would like to go back to school to start my Masters, but think that might be further down the line. For now, getting ready to bulk up my knowledge of C# as well as do a few more projects / side jobs with internet stuff. Anyone looking for a geek like me?

My major goal for 2006 would be to purchase a house. I have no idea what I can afford, or what I am looking for, but I know I want a house. Actually, that’s a lie. I want 2 bedrooms, 1 full / 1 half bath, basement, garage, nice sized back yard. This is something that I will more than likely pursue late in 2006.

As for friends and family, you guys are the best! Trust me, I have put you all through a rigorous test testing your likeability. All came out with flying colors. As for all of you getting along at the same time, that’s a different subject. I hope everyone has a healthy and fruitful new year!

Your Buddy,
Shoo
