Sun Tanning

Its 9:51 and I am about ready for bed. Today was just a long day, made even longer with shortness of sleep. I have been slacking on the blogage; I am sorry. Work and everyday life is kicking my butt. Its all worth it though. Maybe I’ll get up early and blog some of your up to date.

Good Night.

COFFEEEEEEEE

I am at Starbucks now drinking my overly-priced mocha while on this overly-priced internet. Boy, I feel great. Caffiene such a good friend. Well, I took my baby… the truck… into the shop today. The flat I had fixed last week was leaking again so I took it back again.

Well me being the smart mechanic said to the grease monkey today, “Can you check the front suspension? Its making a popping sound.” I might as well as handed over my social security number, credit card (yes, I only have one - not counting the BB), mother’s madien name, ect.

They called me later on today, “Shoo (they actually used my real name), we fixed the tire but we have two other urgent things to fix.”

By the time they told me the grand total, I was ready to put a ‘For Sale’ sign on the truck and just start using only my bike. After thinking about it for the afternoon, I gave in and told them to fix the baby up. In reality, I knew that something was wrong with the front suspension, so it wasn’t a huge surprise. And the ‘grease monkeys’ are not really ‘grease monkeys’, they are really good mechanics that know how to spell my last name.

Never fails, just when I want to buy a new bike…. gah. Back to slaving away on the computer…

Luke…….. I am ……. STEALING YO MONEY

I thought this picture was very fitting considering that the Showplace 8 was robbed last Saturday by no other than Darth Vader.

All I gotta say - through the words of K Monster.

The creative juices are running a little low, and K captured the moment perfectly from yesterday that I thought I’d take his stuff and just repost it.

So it is Sunday already. Time is flying. Duf and Emily were married last night. Congratulations to both of them. I was fortunate enough to be able to join them on their very special day. It was a great time. It was almost like a HS Reunion. I saw my 5th grade teacher and chatted with her for about 20 minutes. I saw friends whom I have not seen in forever and hopefully it will not be forever again before I see them next. I danced the night away. I can tell that I am getting older because woooooooweee that wore me out. My feet still hurt the next morning from all that dancing. It feels surreal that the wedding has actually happened and is over now. It is like I am still waiting for it to happen but in a flash it did happen.

Congratulation Duf and Em again!

Well written K. Yes… We now have a Mr. and Mrs. Duf. Talk about the nicest genuine people. I have known Aaron since around 5th grade-ish. We were in band together all the way through high school. As K said earlier, its kind of surreal how life is falling into place now. It all seems like a game. Where do you want to go? Who do you keep around? What is the meaning of true happyness? I honestly love life right now. I am starting to realize what is falling into place. How you have to live it to the fullest (but in moderation —- gasp, I think I just sounded like a family member there - creepy, gotta shake that thought out) .

Yup, life is good right now. I got some beans & wennies to attend to in just a moment.

Now, I must clarrify, that all-though it may seem that ’shoo has got a good head on his sholdiers’ that I do not, and still not understand the whole chapter about love. In comparison to the other encyclopedia books on life, “L” has to be bigger than all of them combined. Ahh, but I am not to worried about that right now. Did I not mention I had beans-wennies to attend too??

Hear-ye, hear-ye…

Hear-ye, hear-ye,

I am working tonight at the bar. I need moola. Come in and have some refreshing drinks. FROZEN VODKA LEMONADES are BACK!!!!! Enjoy!

sooooooooooooooo tired.

Its 10 pm and I am about to fall over like a bag of bricks.

Make this short & sweet.

Washer and dryer a GO - clean clothes.

Dine w/ fam.

Tired.

…….ZzzzzzzZZzz

Hand full of splinters.

The days seem like they go too quick anymore. The last two days I have been at work at 7 or a little after 7 and usually stay till about 4. Makes for a long day. I was in Sherman, Petersburg, and Chatham today. Driving around broke the day up. I see I am getting blasted for not updating enough.

Umm, ok here are the updates:

Went bike riding with Phil G on the trails near Lake Springfield on Monday evening. Philly is prone to something… Clumsyness, random acts of God, moving trees… Who know’s what this natural phenomen is? All I know, is that he cracks my shit up. We were crossing a creek where there was a 2×6 being used as a bridge. I crossed it fine. Philly… on the other hand; I happened to turn around at the right moment. As soon as I turned around his front tire was stuck in the mud with his back tire about 3′ in the air. Then in slow motion just like the old Bugs Bunny cartoons he fell swiftly into the mud. I was laughing so much, trying not to laugh as much, that I laughed even more.

That was fall number one. Phil has more accidents than teenager on a cell phone.

He was leading us up a knarly root covered hill. He changes gears at the moment he was pulling his front tire over a root. At that moment his chain busts off the gears. Once again in cartoon slow motion he peddles while holding a wheely all the while looking back at me as ‘ohh- this is going to hurt.’ That fall wasn’t as soft as the previous one of falling into the mud. But on a comical level; golden!

Now I can’t let Phil sound like a total clutz. I ended up scrapping up my left forearm after brushing off a tree. I also put my right hand down in bush full of thorns leaving me with a hand full of splinters. Kind of nasty, my hand is a little swollen.

Tonight I went riding with Mark. Tonight was the burn some fat night. There weren’t any falls but Mark kept me going till I felt I was going to throw a lung. Still felt good though.

My tush is hurting from all this bike riding.

WE GOT A GRILL. A slightly used FREE grill. I won’t even say ‘we’. It’s alllllll mine. I got to repair a few things on it, but I will be cooking up some masterpieces in no time soon! Thanks to Marky-Mark and his parents.

So there is your update!

Lovin’ its what I got; so remember that

I hate Paris Hilton. If you happen to catch the South Park where they make ridiculous fun of her…. oohh geez. One of the funniest SP’s since Big Gay Al’s boat ride. Kyle and I enjoyed immense laughter.

Week One of being out of the parents…

A. Food is good. Mac & Cheese (no Easy Mac), Pizza, Beer, Mt.Dew, Gatoraid… Stuff of champions.

B. We need a washer; which in fact should be here some time on Tuesday. I have a mountain of clothes in my room.

C. Entertainment; plenty of toys, dvd’s, computer games…

D. We are both alive, and have all of our limbs.

Side note:

How does the icecream get away cranking his loud music, but if anyone else did that they would get a ticket?

Friday, saw the Portuguese Rodeo Clown Company improv comedy troop. Great fun. You could tell that the alcohol was taking a toll on the audience towards the end of the show. There was a lady yelling some ‘I-am-not-going-to-post-this-stuff-on-my-blog-stuff’ as well as she was reading outloud the cue cards out loud that the guys on stage were trying to guess. But a great time.

Blog me a little time.

Finally starting to feel better. I get congested every once in awhile, but feel much better. As for being sick, it has back logged all work. Spent the last two days digging myself out of a mound of work. Can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Living on your own is so nice.. oO(sigh of relief)Oo .. Granit there are dishes in the sink, and boxes in the floor of my room that need to be moved, unpacked or shoved into a closet. Things have been going good. Kyle and I get along great. However (this is the juicy part), I am feeling tension with bathroom time. Kyle is one of those people that has to do everything in the bathroom instead of moving on to his room. Its not a big deal. I am just going to have to rework getting up earlier and into the shower before he does. And ya’ll thought we be at each other throats by the end of the week.

More apartment drama. Last night there were some cats, cats and dogs, or dogs and cats getting it on, or in heat. Whatever it was it sounded like a fire engine with a busted loud speaker. Luckily the Nyquil kicked pretty quick.

More work for me…. What is going on this weekend? I am going to see the Portuguese Rodeo Clown Company Friday and I have to work Saturday night. Maybe a little BBQ’in on Sunday..

Peace.

One way or another.

The sickness is kicking my butt, so much so, that I am forgetting very important Cardinal games. Yes, very important. But luckily I had stepped out tonight to wish Kirsten a very happy 23rd birthday. Jenny informed me that she had gotten the tickets. Ohh so sweet. It’s like my own little surprise birthday.

Talking about surprises… I am getting a Weber. The grill; not the Illini coach. Tell you what, there will be some good eat’n at the apartment.

Well, I am sorry for the abbreviated post, but I must go to bed.

Build a better DVR

So the design theme at the ‘Westchester’ isn’t pastels and natural textures. It’s ‘pimp-nerd’: A collection of electronic elements to bring out the sophisticated, girl idolizing, style of computer guys. First item on the agenda is to build my own DVR. I have been toying around with the idea for awhile of building my own box instead of laying out the $200 bucks for an off the shelf pay by the month unit. You’d be able to record tv shows, play mp3’s and videos, all kinds of cool stuff…

Surfing around I came across this cool site tonight on how to build this type of DVR. Link.

Home Sweet Home

Sorry ladies and gents for not post much this week. Everything literally hit the fan. First of all, a nasty virus attacked my throat. Went to Prompt Care this morning and they told me there was not much to do but up the dose of Advil. Then all kinds of other hoopla happened. I still have hoopla to take care of. Whoa is me :(

But the new place is great. Got about 75% of my stuff moved into today. INTERNET IS RUNNING FANTASTICALLY. obviously.

In my fridge we have coke, ketchup, mustard, mayo, corona, bud light, water, and leftover pizza. I thought you’d all like to know that. Feels good to have my own place… ok and a room mate. Which he has already nick-named me ‘wifey.’ I gotta keep him in line. And no I don’t clean toilets.

But alas, I am moved in, and it feels great. Kick ass party soon, but not too soon.

I squish you!

Remember the Kid’s in The Hall skit where they squish people’s heads? This reminds me of it.

Now accepting all forms of payment.

I made it into the office at 6.14 am on the dot. Yes, folks, we have another busy day on hand.

I will be bartending this evening at 7. So if you got a hank’erin for a stiff drink; stop by.

Did you see that Cardinal comeback last night?

Cut me up.

I found these via BoingBoing.

“Mommy, I scrapped me knee, I need Bacon!!!”
