Ok, since I am pretty much the head geek around here, I thought I would introduce everyone to Firefox and some cool things you can do. Firefox, which has been in the news lately, is an internet browser just like Internet Explorer. The difference is that Firefox is really good about blocking spyware and nasty pop-up’s that IE can get infected with and its more secure.
But as for the blogging world, it does something that IE doesn’t do. You can subscribe to feeds on a blog. Most of you are saying, “What?” Ok, how would you like to be able to open your bookmarks and see who has a new post on their blog without having to go there?? Its a neat little tool.
And its simple as this:
But before you get to this stage, you need to ’subscribe’ to a site. And in order to do that, if there is an orange icon in the bottom right hand corner, click and it will give you a list of options - just like this:
Another feature is the ability to navigate with tabs. Instead of having 5 million windows open, you can have a list of tabs in one window. You can also go into your bookmarks, right click and open all the sites in a particular folder all in tabs. Makes for easy navigating for a lot of sites.
Download it now - its free - http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

your good taste shines once again. although why is the “SH-word” okay, but the “f-word” is not. i thought all swear words were equal
Its my dot com. How’s that?
ohhhhh, way to put the smakc down big shoo
pretend i typed “smack down”. or didn’t
Thank God you guys are there to entertain me with your stupid comments while I’m in class tonight!
Shoo sounds like he might be a bit cranky. You would think he would enjoy all this traffic on his site. We’re all adults here… or are we?
Anyway…this browser is great…You will have to show the neat little things though
I was using Safari…but I’ll agree with ya here, Shoo-Firefox really works well. It’s the little things that make the difference, eh?
No, I am not canadian. Eh.
part of my brain read “head geek” and got offended. but another part said “hey man, chill out. you hate computers, remember? it’s 5:00. let’s go have a beer.” so that’s what we’re doing, and now i’m gonna try to rot away the rest of that first part.
I agree with you Phil, “hey man, chill out. you hate computers, remember? it’s 5:00. let’s go have a beer.”
